A new kind of salon...
My salons integrate academic, social, emotional, and narrative intelligence. Equal parts classroom, group counseling, storytelling, and just plain delightful social event. I get things rolling, and then it becomes group improvisation...including the topics!
At the "halftime break" we usually have a performance...but then we talk and reflect about the performance. It's so different from most of the performance world of "consume, then go home".
I've facilitated over 215 Dialogue & Art Salons in cities like San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, NYC, Brooklyn, LA and Boston.

Dialogue salons from the past
Dialogue salons from the past range from those held by Madame Geoffrin in Paris in the mid-1700s Enlightenment, attended by philosophers and writer Voltaire and Diderot...to those held by Doris Parker at the Algonquin Roundtable gatherings in early 20th century Midtown Manhattan (seen at right).
